The lab assistant is responsible for preparing tools and materials, assisting students, maintaining equipment, and reinforcing safety procedures. Duties &amp; Responsibilities <ul> <li>Prepare and organize tools, fixtures, pipe materials, and instructional equipment for lab exercises.</li> <li>Assist instructors during lab activities by helping students with plumbing skills and reinforcing safety procedures.</li> <li>Supervise students in the lab/shop to ensure safe practices and appropriate tool usage.</li> <li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab, including disposal of materials and recycling of components as appropriate.</li> <li>Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on plumbing tools, training rigs, and shop infrastructure.</li> <li>Track and inventory materials, tools, and consumables; notify staff of supply needs.</li> <li>Help set up and break down lab projects, pipe-fitting assemblies, water supply and drainage system simulations.</li> <li>Support the enforcement of OSHA, campus safety, and sanitation standards.</li> <li>Attend staff meetings and complete any required safety or instructional training.</li> <li>Provide guidance and technical support to students under instructor supervision.</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED.</li> <li>At least 1 year of hands-on experience in the plumbing trade or completion of a technical training program in plumbing.</li> <li>Working knowledge of basic plumbing tools, systems, codes, and safety practices.</li> <li>Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment.</li> <li>Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with instructors and students.</li> <li>Comfortable using and maintaining basic hand and power tools used in plumbing.</li> <li>Ability to perform physical tasks in demonstration of plumbing processes and equipment which may require lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.</li> </ul> Who We Are: Community HigherEd Institute is Oklahoma’s only private non-profit technical college system based in Tulsa, Oklahoma that is dedicated to improving the lives of aspiring professionals through each of its three campuses, Community Care College, Clary Sage College, and Oklahoma Technical College.
