They optimize inventory planning to meet service, cost, and delivery objectives. Planners oversee logistics and schedule resources (technicians/equipment), manage budgets, and ensure that work is on schedule and timelines/lead times are communicated to the customer service team. Essential Duties &amp; Responsbilties: <ul> <li>Generates master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecats or customer orders. </li> <li>Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times. Release production work orders.</li> <li>Expedites parts for customers and operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.</li> <li>Evaluates exception requests and communicates approval or disapproval to appropriate individuals. </li> <li>Approves customer purchase orders; determines lead time information; when customers need less time than normal lead time, evaluates material availability to determine how the request fits within material availability and scheduling requirements.</li> <li>Reviews engineering change notices and locates parts to meet latest revision requirements.</li> <li>Creates rework orders for parts that need rework.</li> </ul> Education: <ul> <li>Some college preferred </li> <li>High School Diploma/ Relevant Experience </li> </ul> Experience: <ul> <li>Solid understanding of planning and scheduling.</li> <li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute amounts such as discounts, interest, and percent. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.</li> <li>Ability to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations with management and co-workers, including the ability to speak simple sentences; listen to others without interrupting and get clarification when needed.</li> <li>Ability to read, analyze and interpret simple and complex instructions, work orders, and technical procedures. Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. </li> <li>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
