Position Details Req ID req1391 Job Title ACCOUNTANT II Division Corporate Shift First Shift Job Summary Job Summary Applies advanced knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and industry practices, Generally Accepted Accounting Practices and other accounting standards relating to financial accounting. Essential Functions &amp; Key Responsibilities <ul> <li>Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity that require judgment and ingenuity referring to policies and procedures for guidance. Work is reviewed for accuracy and adequacy.</li> <li>Installs and implements new and revised accounting systems. Modifies system specifications and documentation and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures with management and users.</li> <li>Analyzes and reconciles financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital. Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.</li> <li>Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers. Prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.</li> <li>Conducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation.</li> <li>Performs the compilation and analysis of financial information and prepares entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.</li> </ul> Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment. Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. Accounting, Finance or another appropriate discipline. If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.Experience Requirements 2-4 or more years year(s) Related experience and/or training. Experience requirements may be flexible depending upon review of applicants’ specific job history. Public Accounting experience may be weighted heavier than Private Accounting. Skills and Competencies <ul><li>Communicates effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms.</li> <li>Makes telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and makes formal presentations to small or large groups.</li> <li>Operates standard office equipment and demonstrates competence in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.</li></ul> Skills and Work Requirements <ul> <li>Property Accounting experience a plus</li> <li>Experience with SAP a plus</li> </ul> Physical Requirements Physical Requirements Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
