Covering a strategic sales territory encompassing New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., the ideal candidate would reside within the sales territory in a remote/home office. This role offers a pivotal opportunity to lead both strategically and tactically in cultivating new business within the A&amp;D sectors. Reporting directly at the division level, you’ll take charge of sales initiatives targeting key Tier 1 and sub-tier clients across six business units, playing a central role in driving growth and market penetration. This position reports to the Aerospace &amp; Defense Director of North American Sales. KEY REPONSIBILITIES <ul> <li> Accelerate Growth: As the cornerstone of this role, you will strategize and execute plans to meet and surpass the company’s growth targets: <ul> <li>Your foremost duty will be to proactively seek out and cultivate new business opportunities. Mid-Atlantic Regional Sales Manager, Aerospace & Defense

This Sales Engineer opportunity covers the West Coast USA region, and provides the leadership required to plan, manage, supervisor, and coordinate the activities related to the sale and promotion of products and services of the assigned business unit. This role is responsible to facilitating the development of new market strategies including analytically discovering new product platform development profiles, finding new business opportunities, maintaining existing accounts, and advising/guiding the business in the most effective use of resources for the purpose of meeting the territory’s growth goals. What you will do: <ul> <li> Manage all aspects of the sales process for the accounts located in the territory as defined by leadership either geographically or by company. Included in this are the following tasks: <ul> <li>Qualify customers</li> <li>Generate sales opportunities</li> <li>Qualify opportunities</li> <li>Gather the engineering data required to identify the solution required to satisfy the customer’s need</li> <li>Recommend engineering solutions to customers</li> <li>Develop a strategy for winning identified opportunities</li> <li>Follow up on quotes</li> <li>Secure purchase orders</li> <li>Manage customer expectations</li> <li>Effectively communicate the wants and needs of customers to the inside sales personnel and company management through established channels</li> </ul> </li> <li> Manage customer relations for the accounts located in the territory defined by leadership either geographically or by company. Included in this are the following tasks: <ul> <li>Liaison with manufacturing and the customer to ensure that delivery changes are handled professionally and with the least amount of discomfort for the customer as dictated by the needs of the company</li> <li>Liaison with quality assurance and the customer to ensure that quality issues are handled professionally and expeditiously to the satisfaction of the customer</li> <li>Liaison with engineering and the customer when solving technical problems at the customer</li> <li>Liaison with engineering and the customer on the development of prototype parts</li> <li>Liaison with engineering and the customer when scheduling the delivery of prototype parts</li> <li>Manage any other interaction between the company and the customer heretofore unmentioned</li> </ul> </li> <li>Work with local reps and rep firms (if present) to facilitate the sales process</li> </ul> <ul> <li> Work with advertising and market implementation plans set forth by the company, which includes but is not limited to the following activities: <ul> <li>Lead generation</li> <li>Lead Qualification</li> <li>Lead Follow-up</li> <li>Trade show participation</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Provide written reports back to the company on all customer contacts or developments of significance</li> <li>Provide monthly business reviews for their territory in the format specified by the Director of Sales</li> <li>Participate in the company’s annual sales forecast for the following fiscal year</li> </ul> We are looking for: <ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a technical or related field</li> <li>3+ years’ direct sales experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office</li> <li>German language skills a plus</li> <li>Strong communication and organizational skills required; must be able to effectively communicate to internal and external parties with a strong service mindset</li> <li>Strong working knowledge of electro-mechanical engineering and sales principles required; experience with BLDC, brushed, gear boxes, motor drives, lead screws, and linear actuators as well general engineering concepts of linear and rotary motion and power transfer highly preferred</li> <li>Must be able to work well within a team or independently, as well as demonstrate initiative and a drive for results</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Ability to travel domestically and internationally including travel to Europe for training at the Business Unit Headquarters and factories</li> <li>Must reside within the assigned territory </li> <li>Willing to work outside and beyond standard office hours (8:00AM – 5:00PM Mon-Fri) when the situation warrants</li> </ul>
