As the Associate General Counsel, you will oversee and manage the company’s disputes and litigation, labor and employment matters, and provide legal counsel to the Chief Privacy Officer and Chief Compliance Officer.

Daily, as the Associate General Counsel, you will possess a deep understanding of business needs and be able to offer pragmatic legal solutions that align with the company’s strategic goals.

To thrive in the role, you will have at least ten years of legal experience, including both law firm and in-house roles, and will demonstrate an ability to navigate complex, cross-jurisdictional legal issues.

Here’s what you will experience working as the Associate General Counsel:

Disputes and Litigation Management:

  • Lead and oversee the company’s disputes and litigation strategy, managing a portfolio of active cases, including commercial, employment, intellectual property, and regulatory matters.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for outside counsel and internal stakeholders on all legal disputes in cooperation with direct reports.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, providing proactive counsel to senior leadership on high-risk issues.
  • Ensure the timely and effective resolution of disputes and litigation matters while minimizing legal exposure and costs.

Labor and Employment Matters:

  • With the support of the Assistant General Counsel provide legal guidance on a broad range of labor and employment issues, including employee relations, workplace policies, and compliance with federal, state, and international labor laws.
  • Advise on employment disputes, wrongful termination claims, employee classifications, wage and hour issues, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to ensure compliance with labor regulations across multiple jurisdictions, including the US, India, and the Philippines.
  • Develop and implement best practices and training programs to promote a positive workplace culture and mitigate employment-related risks.

Legal Advice to Chief Privacy Officer and Chief Compliance Officer:

  • Provide legal support and advice on privacy matters, including compliance with global data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Advise the Chief Compliance Officer on regulatory issues, corporate governance, and legal compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Assist in the development of privacy, compliance, and security policies, including the integration of new legal and regulatory requirements into business operations.
  • Stay updated on evolving data privacy, security, and compliance laws and regulations that impact the company’s operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with a combination of law firm and in-house experience, ideally in a large, global organization.
  • Extensive experience managing complex litigation, including high-stakes commercial and employment matters.
  • Strong background in labor and employment law. Experience with international labor regulations will be considered favorably.
  • Expertise in data privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance laws, including familiarity with international data protection frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
  • Proven ability to effectively manage outside counsel, budget legal expenses, and develop strategic litigation and legal risk management plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with senior leadership, business teams, and global colleagues.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction; additional licensure in relevant jurisdictions is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills.
  • Ability to support/manage experienced attorneys.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Manage multiple demands effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • High integrity, including maintaining confidential information.
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $170,956.00 - $274,007.40 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.This job is eligible to participate in our annual bonus plan at a target of 30.00%
