Vice President, Operations Strategy & Partnerships

Position Purpose: This role will support the success of Centene's mission transforming the health of the communities we serve, one person at time, by driving key enterprise partnerships that support strategic initiatives. This position, within the Operations Strategy & Partnerships team, will play an integral role in driving named partnerships across core enterprise business and technology teams from business strategy through to value creation.
- Owning named external enterprise partnerships to advance innovation leveraging data and technology and drive accountability to ensure value realization, including partnerships where Centene has a sizeable investment stake
- Being accountable business owner for named partnerships, working cross functionally to demonstrable value realization against business cases
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with Business Technology Solutions and cross-functional leaders and teams in order to identify, explore, present and implement business opportunities
- Driving strategy development and execution of contract terms that align business strategy and operational readiness to value creation from named partnerships
- Holding internal teams accountable to drive implementation and operations to support named investments and partnerships
- Understanding strategies and goals across all lines of business and how data and technology investments and innovation can enable those strategies
- Partnering cross functionally with Centene Operations to understand how each function will support LOB goals and where data and technology play a role to support meeting those goals
- Partnering with broader Centene vendor management team to align around the “playbook” for strategic external partnership governance
- Managing the relationship governance process (e.g., Joint Operating Committees, Steering Committees) to ensure compliant operations and monitors fulfillment of contract obligations
- Overseeing service level management and reporting, including publishing and managing performance and/or KPI monitoring
- Managing all aspects of oversight for named contracts to assure that optimum quality, service and cost outcomes are achieved. This includes monitoring the operational aspects of partnership through spearheading the design, and execution of audits and evaluations of financial and operational performance that will confirm that contract terms, standards and expectations are met
- Ensuring that partners adhere to all applicable legal, regulatory and accreditation mandates
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field required. Master's Degree preferred.
- 12+ years driving strategic technology initiatives in health care required
- 5+ years building and leading an effective team oriented around success, collaboration, and service required
- Experience driving strategic initiatives forward in complex and matrixed environments
- Strong ability to work cross functionally and with senior leadership to align and execute
