POSITION SUMMARY:

The VDC Manager 1 is responsible for managing the usage of VDC technologies for a given project or multiple projects, including assisting in completing any contractual requirements and utilizing the technology to maximize productivity and risk mitigation. This individual will assist in ensuring that the project(s) adhere to all VDC standards and any owner or design team requirements. The position entails managing all VDC-related team members and subcontractors involved in the virtual aspect of a given project. The VDC Manager 1 is responsible for ensuring that the data produced in the virtual environment is implemented in the field properly and is communicated to all parties involved in the project accurately.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with preconstruction coordination and other VDC efforts.
  • Assists with reports regarding the coordination efforts of the project.
  • Resolves conflict with subcontractors.
  • Review the owner contract for all references to VDC and BIM efforts to ensure the Execution Plan follows those requirements.
  • Prepare the VDC/BIM portion of the contract and help communicate the project's needs for VDC efforts during the procurement process.
  • Oversee coordination performance of project, keep up to date with the overall performance of the project, including status and schedule, and maintain relationships with clients, designers, and consultants.
  • Maintain coordination efforts to reduce added cost to the trades and the project.
  • Attend and lead project meetings.
  • Conduct quality control inspections regarding the model.
  • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others.
  • Provide assistance in demoing of software / technologies
  • Duties as listed in VDC Engineer 1 and VDC Engineer 2 descriptions.
  • Responsible for conducting themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibiting attributes matching the Way We Work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES GUIDELINES:

  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Autodesk Suite, Bluebeam, Revizto, Tekla, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work constructively and independently.
  • Time management skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Functions effectively as part of a team.
  • Transmits professionalism.
  • Problem-solving skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent. May substitute required education degree with related experience on a one-to-one basis
  • 8 years of industry experience

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS:

  • Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day.
  • Ability to repeat the same movements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls.
  • Use hands to type, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or control.
  • Occasionally lift, pull, or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional travel will be required, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver’s License).
