Position DefinitionThis is an entry level position which, under general supervision, performs a variety of detailed administrative tasks requiring high accuracy. This position is intended to instruct and develop the incumbent so they may advance to a technician position when appropriate.
Job Description
Examples of Work Performed
Perform accurate data entry into various software programs, and verify accuracy.
Maintain data and files, both electronic and physical.
Determine ownership by chain of title and verify property owner’s addresses.
Process letters to real property owners or their representatives concerning issues.
Assist property owners, co-workers, and other offices.
May infrequently require work be done outside normal business hours.
Perform other duties as assigned, and trains co-workers.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Extreme accuracy, and conscientious review of work product.
Maintain and develop accurate records and files, numerically and alphabetically.
Ability to read, comprehend and interpret property legal descriptions.
Reading maps, legal documents, policies, and procedures.
Ability to deal tactfully with co-workers and taxpayers.
Additional Job Description
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Certificates, licenses, and registrations
Upon hire, achieves Certificate of Advanced Accreditation as provided for in Title 68 O.S. §2816
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business media, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, coworkers, and taxpayers.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate rate, ratio, proportions, percentages, area, and circumference. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to present ideas in a linear manner with logical progression.
Ability to apply critical thinking to complicated scenarios.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.
Physical Demands
Employee is regularly required to use arms, hands, and fingers to handle, feel, or reach; to speak clearly and listen. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
This position is in a typical downtown office environment.
The noise level in the office is low to moderate.
