Job Summary: Manage and ensure that the right resources with the right skills are available at the right time while balancing and optimizing employee growth, client results, and financial and operational metrics. The Tax Resource Manager ensures that we deliver on the commitments we make to clients while leveraging our resources in the best ways possible. The Tax Resource Manager also acts as the central coordinator for client projects within the Firm's Tax Department.
- Lead by example; actively live out and promote the firm’s core values HT3 and service standards.
- Help implement, manage and maintain a resource allocation software, utility or application.
- Effectively evaluate and communicate with the Tax Operations Committee and Industry Leaders to deliver on client commitments and the staffing mix needed to do so.
- Ensure that projects in each niche area and office are staffed appropriately, given overall firm resources and client goals. Guide staff towards projects appropriate to their experience level and development goals while maintaining consistent workload hours across the department at each staff level.
- Lead regular calls with managers and office leaders.
- Ensure relationships and processes with Operations, People, and Finance are strong, integrated and allow for the agile movement of staff work and realization of key metrics.
- Partner with HT leadership, Tax Functional Leaders, and the Talent Advisor team to make recommendations to further enhance the effectiveness of tax resource allocation efforts across the firm.
- Use the resource management tool to design dashboards and analyze information used to schedule, trend analysis and what-if analysis as it relates to resource management and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with Talent Advisors to understand the development, performance, and career path options within the Firm and begin to lay the groundwork for the future evolution of the function to support the growth and development of our people through their work experiences.
- Understand and support Firm strategy around the changing ways in which work is performed to include domestic employee resources, contractor and other contingent labor, offshore service centers, and digital transformation/automation of work hours.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in working with database administration
- Experience in the professional service industry preferred
- High school diploma with a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in a similar role required
- Associates degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred
- Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to evaluate and lead the implementation of software applications to improve efficiency
- Project management and organizational skills highly preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as cohesively on project teams
- A desire to provide exceptional service to stakeholders with the highest level of integrity
- Ability to positively influence individuals at all levels of the organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
