About the Tulsa Higher Education Consortium
Tulsa is home to the only higher education consortium of its kind in the state of Oklahoma. The Tulsa Higher Education Consortium, LLC ("THE Consortium") is an organization of multi-institutional, cross-sector partnerships that meaningfully improve students' journeys towards degree completion, professional independence, and economic mobility. Its members include nine Tulsa-area colleges and universities (College of the Muscogee Nation, Langston University, Northeastern State University, OSU-Tulsa, OU-Tulsa, Rogers State University, Tulsa Community College, University of Tulsa, and Southern Nazarene University-Tulsa) and seven affiliate partners (Tulsa Community Foundation, Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies, the City of Tulsa, the Tulsa Regional Chamber, ImpactTulsa, The Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce, and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education). The Tulsa Higher Education Consortium's mission is to cultivate an aligned network of higher education institutions and community partners committed to increasing degree completion for all students in the region. The Consortium serves as a convener, connector, and communicator for its members, allowing for synergy and true collaboration centered around supporting Tulsa-area students on their postsecondary journeys.
About the Tech Hubs Grant
The U.S. Economic Development Administration designated Tulsa a “Tech Hub” and awarded a five-year federal tech hubs grant as part of a historic investment in U.S. economic competitiveness and national security. Tulsa’s proposal, the Tulsa Hub for Equitable & Trustworthy Autonomy (THETA), will advance the development of autonomous technologies, such as uncrewed aerial systems (UAS), drones, cybersecurity and generative artificial intelligence. The T3 program is part of the Autonomous Systems Workforce Program portion of the THETA projects, overseen by Tulsa Innovation Labs, LLC. This is a grant-funded position contingent upon funding through the U.S. Economic Development Administration tech hubs grant, a five-year grant starting in fall 2024.
Job Summary: The T3 Program Manager leads THE Consortium's Tech Hubs Talent Training Program, a comprehensive initiative designed to empower students in technology and tech-related fields (like technology, engineering, applied sciences, etc.) through academic support, career development, and industry connections. This position is responsible for strategic program leadership, partnership development, and supervision of Student Success Coaches while ensuring the program meets its goals for student retention, academic achievement, and career preparation across nine Tulsa area higher education institutions.
RequirementsDuties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the T3 Student Success Program, including strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Supervise and support Student Success Coaches, providing guidance and professional development
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations
- Oversee program metrics and reporting to demonstrate impact and identify areas for improvement
- Coordinate with institutional partners to align support services and resources
- Manage program budget and resources effectively
- Design and implement professional development programming for students
- Create and maintain systems for tracking student progress and program outcomes
- Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders and advisory groups
- Represent the program at community events and professional conferences
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education administration, student success programs, or similar area
- Demonstrated knowledge of Technology, Engineering, Applied Sciences and related career pathways
- Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks/deadlines
- Excellence in team leadership and supervision
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Comfortable with public speaking and serving as a meeting leader and facilitator
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with local civic, education, and industry leaders
- Outstanding ability to lead and drive change, including influencing and motivating others through relationship building
- Service minded with strong desire to work with THE Consortium members and community partners
- Demonstrated success in program development and implementation
- Experience with data analysis and outcomes assessment
- Knowledge of student success best practices in Technology, Engineering, Applied Sciences, and tech-adjacent fields
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required in Education or related field, including Engineering, Applied Sciences, or Technology
- Master's degree preferred
- Five or more years of relevant work experience in higher education, engineering, applied sciences or technology industries
Physical and Logistics Requirements:
- Position requires sitting or standing and working with a computer for extended periods of time
- Must be able to provide individual transportation to local events
- Some travel required, occasional overnight travel
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance
Hours and Location:
- This position is primarily 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break
- Attendance of occasional evening community events may be required
- This position includes a mix of virtual and in-person work settings due to regular site and campus visits, in-person, hybrid, and virtual meetings in Tulsa, Oklahoma
