Position Summary: The Supervisor of Special Education Centralized Programs leads the development, implementation, and improvement of district-wide centralized programs for students with disabilities. Reporting to the Executive Director of Special Education Instruction, this role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, fosters inclusive practices, and supports educators through data-driven decision-making and professional development. By collaborating with district leaders, school administrators, and educators in promoting innovative solutions, the Supervisor advances equitable, high-quality education aligned with district goals and values.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• Master’s Degree from an accredited university required
Experience:
• Three (3) years’ experience in program administration and the supervision of professional personnel
• Two (2) years’ experience in a special education leadership role
• Two (2) years’ experience in leading diverse work teams, program evaluation research methods
• Previous school leader or principal experience preferred
• Experience working with children and youth in a special education setting; experience in an urban school setting and/or in a multicultural education environment preferred
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.:
• Possess or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Oklahoma teaching certificate in Special Education
o Administrator certification preferred
• Extensive knowledge and experience with the student referral and evaluation identification process
• Comprehensive proficiency in theories and principles of learning and evaluation; knowledge of special education principles, theories and laws
• Demonstrate knowledge of state and federal special education law
• Demonstrate knowledge of special education programs
• General knowledge of the school District’s mission and goals, programs, facilities, and personnel
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
