Description

About the Role: The Summer Feeding Associate is a part-time, seasonal position dedicated to supporting the Food Bank’s mission of providing nutritious meals to thousands of children during the summer months. This role is vital in ensuring that no child goes hungry when school is out. The program schedule varies but shifts generally fall between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM Monday through Friday, with a lunch break. Comprehensive training is provided, covering the Summer Feeding Program (SFSP) regulations, food safety, and vehicle/equipment use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of Summer Feeding Associates to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of shelf-stable, fresh, and frozen meals.
  • Pack meals, load vehicles, and distribute meals at designated sites.
  • Engage with children by leading recreational activities that foster a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Conduct site reviews to ensure compliance with SFSP regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, program coordinators, and site managers regarding schedules, deliveries, monitoring visits, and other program aspects.
  • Complete and maintain necessary forms, collect site records, and compile data accurately.

  • Comfort working with diverse communities, including children, families, and program partners.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
