Holland Hall was established in 1922 and currently serves approximately 1,000 preK through 12th grade students in a coeducational setting. POSITION SUMMARY

The Summer Programs Instructor is responsible for the general supervision of students and assistants in Summer Programs.

JOB DUTIES

  • Develop and implement a variety of age-appropriate activities which could include art, games, outside play and sports.

  • Supervise and provide direction to Summer Program Assistants.

  • Supervise and facilitate activities and areas to promote positive learning in a safe and caring environment.

  • Maintain and follow set standards for student behavior consistent with maturity level of the age group.

  • Provide careful and concentrated supervision for Summer Program areas to ensure safety.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • Experience with the sport or activity

PREVIOUS RELATED EXPERIENCE

  • PREFERRED: Experience and proven success with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for children ages 3-14

  • Professional attitude and ability to communicate positively and constructively with parents

EXPECTATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE

  • Must be organized and able to prioritize work

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Possess basic computer skills; familiarity with PS/MS office applications

  • Able to utilize a variety of educational materials and resources such as iPads, copier/printer/laminator, telephones/mobile radios, playground and related equipment.

  • Regular attendance is required for successful completion of job duties.

  • Ability to maintain a healthy working environment amongst staff and create an equally nurturing atmosphere for children.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Regularly required to stand or sit on a small chair for prolonged periods of time and walk short distances

  • Exposure to outside weather conditions

  • Able to handle loud noise levels

  • Must have physical strength and emotional stamina sufficient to organize and coordinate a variety of activities

  • Be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Activities include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, talking, hearing and visual activity.
