CVS Health is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Staff Cybersecurity Researcher to join our cybersecurity team. In this role, you will be instrumental in proactively identifying emerging cybersecurity trends, conducting in-depth research on complex subject matter, and providing actionable insights to shape our future security strategy and enhance our existing security posture. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for cybersecurity, exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capability to communicate complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Emerging Threat Research: Conduct ongoing research and analysis of emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Develop deep expertise in complex and evolving cybersecurity domains, such as cloud security, AI-driven attacks, zero-trust architecture, and post-quantum cryptography.
- Proactive Analysis: Proactively analyze potential cybersecurity risks and their potential impact on CVS Health's systems, data, and operations.
- Vulnerability Research: Investigate and analyze both software and hardware vulnerabilities then assess their exploitability.
- Security Trend Analysis: Monitor and analyze cybersecurity trends, publications, and industry best practices to provide insights into potential security challenges and opportunities.
- Strategic Input: Provide well-researched recommendations and insights to shape CVS Health's cybersecurity strategy, policies, and procedures.
- Position Evolution: Contribute to the evolution of existing security positions and practices based on research findings and emerging threats.
- Communication and Reporting: Clearly and concisely communicate research findings, security risks, and mitigation strategies to technical teams, management, and stakeholders, including the ELT and Audit Committee.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other cybersecurity team members, IT professionals, and business units to implement security best practices and address security concerns.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity research, threat intelligence, vulnerability analysis, or another cybersecurity related role.
- 5+ years of experience with cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.
- 5+ years of experience in conducting research, analyzing data, and synthesizing complex information.
- 3+ years of experience with emerging cybersecurity threats and trends.
- 3+ years of experience with formal communication and presentation skills and the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the healthcare industry or a strong understanding of HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
- Experience with cloud security, AI security, or other advanced cybersecurity domains.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms and tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, OSCP, CEH) are a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$130,295.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
