WHAT YOU’LL DO
The key responsibilities of a Sr. Network Engineer include the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of our growing customer base technologies and solutions. The right personality is an independent problem solver with a positive attitude. The ability to learn and implement new technologies is paramount. This position is part of a team of engineers responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet external customer objectives and SLAs. The focus of this role will be on FortiNet technologies.
Major duties and responsibilities:
- Serve as a Technology specialist around FortiNet products and solutions
- Develop network rollouts, projects, process flow, documentation, and ongoing maintenance for assigned accounts as they relate to FortiNet solutions
- Escalation point of contact for any FortiNet customer solutions
- Support, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and coordinate the usage of any FortiNet technology
- Assess FortiNet customer environments and make recommendations based on needs
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to FortiNet network infrastructure
- Provide engineering support for network design, performance tuning, and monitoring for all FortiNet solutions
- Network incident and outage escalation for Operations and Network Engineers as they relate to FortiNet customers
- Prepares other teams (CIM, Test & Turn Up, Customer Service & Support, Config-Line, Network Ops, etc.) by designing and conducting new and existing project training programs as they relate to FortiNet products and customer networks
- Liaise with FortiNet vendors and other IT personnel for problem-resolution
- Create and maintain all required network documentation, including diagrams and troubleshooting methodologies, using the provided tools
WHO YOU ARE
Key Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools
- 6+ years of networking experience in environments supporting multiple vendors and networking products
- 4+ years of FortiNet experience within a production environment
- Well-versed with FortiNet products and solutions
- Network Engineering and support of routers, switches, network security devices, and network management systems
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (DMVPN, IPSEC, BGP, MPLS, VRF, QoS, Spanning-Tree, OSPF, 802.11, QoS, ACLs, DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS)
- Proven ability to work under pressure and interface with senior management
- Proficient in the use of Visio, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- CCNP certification or equivalent experience is preferred
- FortiNet certification NSE 7 is required
- Experience with PCI DSS standards preferred

- Standard daytime working hours, rotating 24/7 on-call schedule, and ability to respond to a support call at all times during the on-call schedule

- Extensive use of hands and fingers for typing
- Extensive use of eyes in reviewing paper documents or a computer screen
