Job Description

The Senior ICFR Compliance Analyst is primarily responsible for ensuring the Company has the necessary internal control and assessment elements in place to meet the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements and assist management with the second line of defense oversight of the design and effectiveness of the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework. This position will play a key role in safeguarding the integrity of our financial reporting processes in coordination with Risk Management, Internal Audit, Project Management Office, Vendor Risk Management, and advisor to lines of business control owners.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will conduct research and analysis on SOX/ICFR risks and assess the adequacy of SOX controls in the master risk and control library.
  • You will review control deficiencies from current and prior years to determine remediation status and perform quarterly SOX/ICFR control monitoring assessments.
  • You will assist in designing and documenting the SOX/ICFR Framework, including risk assessment methodology and sampling approach for control monitoring.
  • You will review quarterly SOX 404 and 302 certifications, assess deficiencies, and determine if they are significant or material weaknesses.
  • You will coordinate annual walkthrough meetings with external auditors and work with ICFR Director and CAO on SOX financial scoping and risk assessment.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and 3+ years of experience in a public accounting firm serving publicly traded clients, or an internal audit, compliance, or risk management position or equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional designation such as CIA or CPA preferred, but not required. If not certified, then must be open to becoming CPA eligible.

  • Strong knowledge of ICFR/SOX requirements, COSO framework, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Experience in performing risk assessments, leading walkthrough meetings, performing control testing, and evaluating control deficiencies
  • Strong knowledge of banking rules, regulations, systems and operations
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, presenting findings through written communication and verbal presentations.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment as a second line of defense consultant for financial accounting
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends or anomalies
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting
  • Experience with PowerBI preferred
