Amazon's Cross Border team is responsible for providing customers a one-stop shop for international transportation service, providing end-to-end supply chain solutions. We are seeking a customer-centric individual who wants to be part of this journey and manage daily operational tasks and customer queries.

A Senior Compliance Specialist owns daily operations for customs clearance on ocean, air, rail, and truck cross-border shipments.

Key job responsibilities
- Review and audit for entry filing, PGA, HTS classification, AD/CV, etc
- Develop audit initiatives / mechanisms to measure and resolve compliance risks
- Intake of regulatory inquiries (28/29, Liquidated Damages, etc) from CBP and customers
- Work with stakeholders to draft petitions / protests for duty mitigation
- Deep dive penalties from CBP and determine root cause / corrective action
- Interpret and implement guidance from 19 CFR and Informed Compliance Publications on behalf of our customers
- Submit Duty Drawback entries
- Build and maintain SOPs for new and changes to regulatory requirements
- Advise and educate clients on import restrictions, tariffs, and other customs-related matters in an introductory fashion
- Ownership of subject matter expertise on requirements and regulatory changes to share with the operations teams in multiple locations, both origin and destination

- Complete assigned tasks timely and accurately, within KPI



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years experience in International Logistics, Cross-Border Transportation and Supply Chain, or experience working with US Customs regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Intermediate excel knowledge (pivot table, vlookup, etc)
- Experience or proficiency in Microsoft products (Outlook, Word)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's Degree or Customs related certificates (CCS, LCB, etc)
- Able to read and understand the regulatory language
- A degree of Customs specialization in some role or capacity (Verticals)
- Basic understanding of CBP enforcement processes
- Basic comprehension of ACE portal

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $49,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $95,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
