As a Sr. Category Analyst in Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to develop data-driven insights to support procurement strategy development and execution. You will use your procurement and/or category knowledge to analyze spend, market trends, contracts and supplier performance, developing insightful analyses that accelerate procurement outcomes. Your work will positively impact bottom-line results, minimize risks and foster internal and external relationships. You will report to the Manager of Procurement Analytics.
Role Description
- Create high impact analyses and presentations that drive strategic procurement outcomes
- Leverage data as an asset and tool that can bring clarity to opportunities, influence stakeholders and create value
- Support the development and maturity of procurement analytics capabilities through identifying best practices and creating standards
- Directly support the execution of strategic sourcing events that leverage a bid optimization solution (Coupa CSO, Keelvar, etc.)
- Build strong relationships with strategic sourcing and business stakeholders, enhancing the SS&P internal brand
- Analyze spend data from various sources including Workday Financials, other payment systems and spend aggregation tools
- Conduct market research using various sources to identify industry trends and best practices, as well as price benchmarks
- Review contracts to understand contractual commitments such as scope, services, pricing, service level agreements (SLA’s), termination rights, etc.
- Gather and analyze supplier performance data against the contractual commitments
- Develop presentations and other visuals to present findings to the strategic sourcing team, stakeholders and suppliers
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, finance, statistics, data science, or related field
- 3-5+ years of experience in analytics, procurement, category management or strategic sourcing
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau or other data analysis and visualization tools
- Experience with procurement and/or ERP systems (Workday, SpendHQ, etc.)
- Understanding of data models and data relationships to facilitate analytics
- Ability to influence outcomes using strong verbal and written communication skills as well as relationships
- Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn
