GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under general supervision of the Store Manager, the Team Leader is responsible for the development and performance for the sales associates. Staffs and directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. Responsible for maintaining a friendly and professional environment by greeting and acknowledging every customer and co-worker that approaches. Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable. Must have attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks. Perform any other duties as directed by management.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Coach sales associates
  • meet daily with department; offer them the advice, support, motivation, or information they need in order to help them meet their sales objectives
  • make sure department is doing everything to successfully sell
  • work directly with customers and employees within assigned department, and other departments as needed
  • work on an organizational level with other departments to ensure customer needs are met
  • answer customers questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses
  • emphasize product features based on analyses of customers needs
  • help locate or obtain merchandise for customers
  • describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of merchandise to customers
  • knowledge of methods for showing, promoting, and selling products
  • maintain personal sales volume and metrics
  • maintain and achieve sales goal for department
  • staffing and scheduling for department; training and development of existing associates in department and all new associates assigned to department
  • maintain a clean and sales ready department by:
  • Communicate importance of this to all associates in particular department
  • Make sure department is ready for store to open and straighten at closing
  • Communicate and work with visual team on needs for your department
  • use excellent customer relations. Any other duties as directed by management.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS FOR SALES DEPARTMENT LEAD:

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts, such as opening and closing shifts
  • Advanced Storis knowledge required
  • Ability to lift merchandise of 20 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members
  • Positive attitude when working with customers
  • Proven leader within the organization
  • Knowledge of employment and merchandise handling procedures

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.

Heavy Work: Lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly to move objects.

Work Environment: Works in an indoor, climate-controlled environment
