Ready to be a Titan?

ServiceTitan strives to be the best place our Titans have ever worked, so they can do the best work they’ve ever done. The Experience Design (XD) team is central to this mission. We solve real world problems in the home services industry. We are passionate about bringing innovative and delightful solutions to traditional problems and workflows. Our ambitious team of product designers works closely with product managers, engineers, product marketers and with thousands of our users to help make their lives easier through technology. We embrace agile development and design thinking to ship dozens of new features every month. We measure our success based on our customer’s success. We strive for real impact.

We are looking for a talented Senior UI Engineer that enjoys building tools to increase the efficiency of our Design, Engineering, and Product Management teams. You will be a core member of our mature and growing design systems team extending our design system, Anvil, aiding in creating a class-leading SaaS product across platforms and devices.

Reporting to the Group Manager, Design Systems, the Senior UI Engineer applies technical know-how and eye for design detail to push ServiceTitan’s current Design and Engineering standards to an even higher level. You’re the kind of person who is passionate about design systems, collaboration and inclusion. You’ll live in the space between development and design, pushing the boundaries of user interface design and design systems thinking. If you are someone interested in building scalable systems, accessibility, adaptive design, building tools, automation, and presenting your work, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Be a core contributor to our design system through code contribution and component feedback

  • Partner with Design and Engineering teams to extend, adapt, and evolve our shared processes and tooling to support a large number of teams working on a diverse array of products

  • Build tools and processes for writing tests, automations, improving our build and release tools, maintaining our documentation and development environments, and championing Accessibility

  • Document and maintain Engineering standards of the system; writing how, and more importantly why, patterns should be used

  • Explore and propose frameworks, component and API structures

  • Be a champion for our users and our consumers, delivering solutions that are scalable and solve real problems

  • Maintain the integrity and security of our repositories

  • Drive the adoption of our Design System across the company through communication as well as monitoring adoption metrics

What You’ll Need

  • Experience building production-level web application UI

  • Experience building complex libraries that were used by multiple teams

  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines

  • A solid understanding of systems thinking, you see how all the parts fit together and how small changes propagate throughout the system

  • A strong understanding of HTML, CSS, & JS without third-party libraries or frameworks (we use Sass, React, TypeScript, Webpack, GraphQL, and more)

  • Strong communication and empathetic, attentive listening skills with the capability to anticipate the needs of partners

  • To take ownership of your work and be able to prioritize in collaboration with the team

  • Ability to consider design compromises and communicate trade-offs

Bonuses

  • Experience using or contributing to open-source projects, like Gatsby and Storybook

  • Interest or experience collaborating on custom plugins in design tools, such as Figma

  • Background using AI to build intuitive experiences
