Position Information Position Title Senior ERP Analyst (SIS) Job Description The Senior ERP Analyst reports to the Chief Applications Officer and provides advanced business analysis, project coordination, programming, and application support for our Ellucian Colleague ERP/SIS and associated systems. The University of Tulsa is seeking a dedicated IT ERP Analyst with a focus on Financial Modules or Student Information Systems to join our Information Technology team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in both IT and financial operations or student information processes within a university setting. This role requires a deep understanding of ERP systems, particularly those related to financial processes or student information processes and the ability to translate business requirements into actionable insights and repeatable processes.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
  • Work with departments to analyze and document business processes related to the ERP/SIS and associated products and workflows.
  • Identify technical specifications by working with users to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.
  • Create technical scoping requirements in support of software integration, new application deployments, and process improvements.
  • Analyze and understand the business needs of the university’s financial and student-centered departments. Have experience translating these needs them into system requirements.
  • Design, test, and implement ERP financial or student information modules in the new cloud-based solution to meet the operational needs of the university as a part of the ERP migration to the cloud based solution.
  • Create and maintain documentation for system designs, configurations, and procedures.
  • Address and resolve any issues or bugs within the ERP system promptly.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to university staff on the effective use of the ERP system.
  • Monitor system performance to ensure it aligns with the university’s financial objectives.
  • Work closely with both the Applications team members and IT project managers to ensure technical specifications and resources are properly identified and documented.
  • Collaborate with application users, ERP team members, and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues, implement new features and functionality, and enhance processes.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline current processes, deploy product enhancements, and proactively locate and resolve system data integrity issues.
  • Develop and maintain detailed written technical specifications for developed solutions.
  • Maintain updated knowledge by attending training, conferences, and staying up to date on technical documentation and bulletins.
  • Ensure that all programming, data exchanges, integrations, etc. are secure and in compliance with best practices and University data security standards.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by the department.


Required Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of business processes and data security concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness and ability to successfully complete training for Ellucian Colleague Application Administration.
  • The ability to work with application end users of various technical skill levels to troubleshoot and resolve issues, deploy new features and functionality, and improve business processes

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience supporting a wide variety of business processes specific to higher education student information systems or financial systems and processes.
  • Programming experience with at least one programming language such as Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript etc.
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Proficient in Excel (Power Query, data connections, macros, VLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with and knowledge of Entrinsik Informer or alternate reporting products such as Crystal Reports, SQL Server Reporting Services, Argos, etc.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience and understanding of .NET, XML, and JSON.
  • Strong understanding of university business processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Ellucian Colleague platform
Physical Demands Special Job Dimensions: Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Work days and hours vary due to the nature of the University environment and the responsibilities of this position, with occasional evening and weekend work required.
