Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Overview:

Responsible for developing TDW electronic products, PCB and System Design, testing systems, maintaining and supporting existing products, providing cost and time estimates and writing improvement plans working with global engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

  • PCB and System Design: Lead the PCB and system design process from concept to production. Use ECAD software skills (e.g. Altium Designer) to design PCB and create efficient and reliable multi-layer PCB Schematics and/or layouts.
  • Firmware: Perform embedded systems programming in C and C++ languages to work on firmware development, optimizing code, and troubleshooting firmware running on microcontrollers (8-bit and 32-bit bare-metal and Real-Time OS).
  • Microcontroller Expertise: Utilize in-depth knowledge of microcontrollers (e.g., AVR or STM32 preferable) to develop high-performance embedded systems.
  • Prototyping: Take designs from the drawing board to real-world prototypes by working with vendors for a successful product.
  • Testing: Develop electrical test set-up and instrumentation for product validation testing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with global teams in Europe and Asia, to ensure seamless integration of electronics into our products. Experience with version control systems (e.g., SVN, Git, BitBucket) and bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira) preferable.
  • Problem-Solving: Tackle complex engineering challenges and provide creative solutions to technical issues.
  • Field Support: Support troubleshooting of electronic products during the field visits.
  • Provide technical assistance to mechanical design team, Operations department, and contract design sources to define project definition, specifications, cost and schedule goals. Maintain technical oversight of projects performed by contract design sources.
  • Ability to design and analyze analog and digital circuits.
  • Develop effective maintenance, testing, and quality control procedures on Electronics.
  • Show initiative and keep up with advancements in Electronics.
  • Design, inspect, test, and update existing electronic systems, components, equipment, and software.
  • Ability to travel domestic and internationally 10 – 15%.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Software or Computer Science Engineering.
  • Five or more years of hardware, embedded system design, and software / firmware development experience.
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and assembly.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, research and analytical skills.
