We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sales Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless integration of Yelp's Leads API with our clients' internal CRM or lead management systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of services companies that purchase leads from external lead generators and have extensive experience in integrating APIs. This role involves significant client-facing responsibilities, requiring the individual to work closely with client engineers and product managers to architect solutions and, if necessary, directly assist in the client's code base to facilitate integration.

What you'll do:
- Lead API Integration: Work with clients to integrate Yelp's Leads API into their CRM or lead management systems, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
- Hands-on Engineering Support: Provide direct technical assistance, including working within the client's code base to resolve complex integration issues.
- Technical Problem Solving: Address and solve technical challenges unique to each client's technology stack and lead management workflow.
- Client Collaboration: Engage with client engineers and product managers to understand their requirements and provide tailored solutions to ensure successful implementation.
- Technical Communication: Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to clients, ensuring they understand the integration process and any technical nuances.
- Voice of the Customer: Act as the advocate for clients, providing feedback to the product team to help prioritize product and feature updates.
- Feature Releases and Roadmap: Collaborate with the product team to ensure new features and updates align with client needs and expectations. Partner with product marketing to effectively communicate these enhancements to sales and client success teams.
- Partnership Management: Help scope and manage strategic partnerships that will accelerate Leads API adoption and onboarding, such as integrations with Zapier, Salesforce, and Drift.
- API Troubleshooting: Serve as the first line of defense for API-related issues, providing timely and effective solutions to clients.
- Escalation Management: Handle account-level escalations, such as drops in lead volume, ensuring quick resolution and client satisfaction.
What it takes to succeed:
- You have 3-5 years of relevant technical experience; working on, or alongside, a software engineering team.
- You have experience in API integration and are familiar with a variety of CRM, lead management, and middleware partners.
- You have experience coding in SQL.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients and understand their technical needs.
- You have a proven track record of solving complex technical problems and providing innovative solutions.
- You are comfortable working directly in client code bases to facilitate integration and resolve issues.
- You have the ability to scope and manage strategic partnerships and custom integrations that drive API adoption and client success.
- You are capable of navigating a varied technological landscape and addressing the unique challenges of each client.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the services and/or lead generation space.
- Experience with Zapier.
- Previous experience in a sales engineering or solutions architect role.
- Strong understanding of API technologies and integration best practices.

- Compensation range for this position is $106,000 - $179,000 annually. You may also be offered a bonus and benefits.
