Regional Sales Manager, West Coast
Sales & Business Development
Perform a wide variety of sales and service duties required to receive and process standard and non-standard customers orders and to provide the order information, technical assistance, and on-site support to customers, under minimal supervision, required to market and sell both laboratory and process viscometers, and texture analysis instrumentation.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS
- Manage sales efforts for Brookfield viscometers and texture equipment in a defined area, traveling as much as is necessary to achieve sales goals and numbers as projected by executive sales management.
- Manage interface between the company and the market for assigned products including pricing, costs, sales and technical literature, specifications, and marketing input.
- Develop, schedule, and participate in training programs for company representatives and customers’ personnel. Monitor content and update as required.
- Obtain information related to customers applications and advise on appropriate instruments. Provide marketing feedback on potential sales. Assist customers in obtaining the maximum service from purchased instruments including installation, calibration, operation, and data evaluation.
- Receive and process customer phone orders. Quote instrument and accessory prices, negotiate orders and follow up on open quotations. Regularly communicate with the CS&S group at headquarters re: ales activity, quotations, etc.
- Respond to customers’ requests for product literature, order status information, technical information, and recommend appropriate instruments to meet their standard application requirements. Travel to customer sites for initial sale, instrument start-up, and after sales support as deemed necessary and/or appropriate.
- Respond to customers concerns and questions regarding defective equipment or incorrect items shipped.
- Interact with various departments including Repair, Order Entry and Production Control, to resolve sales related problems.
- When requested, process lab samples for customer and calibrate instruments before returning to customer. Perform prototype evaluation.
- Conduct laboratory training and marketing surveys. Review and recommend changes to sales literature and manuals.
- Attend trade shows as required by sales management, and provide marketing input via customer contacts, on a regular basis.
- Selling Lab, HEP & Process instrumentation in the region
Position Requirements
- 5-7 years sales management experience
- Bachelor’s in engineering or Science studies degree
- CRM experience a must. MSD Preferred
- Instrument sales experience a plus
