About the Role
This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role at the intersection of gaming and education. As the QA Team Lead, you’ll be the backbone of our quality efforts—defining our QA strategy, building out automation frameworks, and leading a team of manual and technical QA engineers. You’ll set the standards for how we ensure the reliability and performance of both our responsive web platform and our Unity-based game. Beyond the technical side, you’ll be a key partner to our engineering and product teams, mentoring junior QA, and helping us scale best practices for consistent, maintainable testing. You’ll bring a proactive mindset, ensuring that quality is baked into everything we do.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of manual and technical QA engineers.
- Architect and implement robust automation frameworks for responsive web and mobile (Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright).
- Balance manual testing efforts with building automation coverage—especially in the early stages of scaling our QA practice.
- Create comprehensive test plans and cases for UI, API, regression, and end-to-end scenarios across devices and browsers.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) to ensure smooth, reliable deployments.
- Debug and analyze logs from mobile devices (ADB for Android, Xcode for iOS) to identify and triage issues quickly.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design teams to maintain high-quality release cycles.
- Establish and refine QA processes and best practices that scale with our platform and team.
- Contribute to broader testing architecture decisions and tool selection as we grow.
- Foster a culture of quality and innovation, ensuring we’re always raising the bar for our users.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of QA experience with strong technical and automation skills, including 2+ years in a lead or senior role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (JavaScript, Python, Ruby, C#).
- Hands-on experience with web and mobile automation tools (Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright).
- Experience in API testing (Postman, REST Assured), test data management, and using Git for version control.
- Ability to retrieve logs and debug issues on mobile devices using ADB and Xcode tools.
- Knowledge of performance, cross-browser, cross-platform, and accessibility testing best practices.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with a passion for mentoring and fostering growth.
- Experience with Unity automation tools (GameDriver) and game testing is a plus, but not required.
