Reports to: Senior Manager of Procurement
Cooperates with: Production, Accounting, Shipping, Engineering, Sales
Primary Responsibility: As our Purchasing Agent, you'll be the backbone of our supply chain, making sure everything runs smoothly from purchase orders to inventory management. If you've got a knack for procurement and know your way around ERP systems, this could be the gig for you. Get ready to play a key role in our production efficiency and customer satisfaction!
Responsibilities:
- Conduct audits of materials from suppliers when necessary and monitor supplier performance.
- Maintain supplier contracts and files.
- Review and approve invoicing from various suppliers and vendors.
- Purchase raw materials, supplies, and services, negotiating with vendors as needed.
- Maintain Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and company calendar.
- Schedule and oversee cycle counts, reviewing and reporting results.
- Manage inventory records and materials costing, making necessary adjustments or corrections.
- Communicate with management regarding order fulfillment and vendor invoices.
- Write purchase orders specifically for Winnipeg, MB operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in purchasing and procurement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in math and analytical skills.
- Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills:
- Working knowledge of Syspro ERP software desired; background in MRP system preferred.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Travel Requirements:
This position will oversee operations at our Winnipeg, MB plant and will require travel at least twice a year to meet with key suppliers and review pricing.
