Job Summary

The Program Innovation Manager plays a key leadership role in designing, implementing, and evaluating innovative STEM and program experiences that align with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma’s (GSEOK) strategic goals. This position serves as a strategic thought partner focused on expanding inclusive access to STEM and high-impact learning opportunities for girls across the council. The Program Innovation Manager will oversee the modernization of curricula, lead the development of engaging events and activities, and collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure all programming reflects the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) and supports girl-led learning. With a strong focus on data-informed decision-making, community engagement, and continuous improvement, the Program Innovation Manager will help shape the future of programming at GSEOK to be relevant, accessible, and inspiring for today’s girls and their families.

This is a safety sensitive position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the STEM Program Manager and the Director of Programs & Community Partnerships to ensure program initiatives are aligned with the council’s STEM strategic plan.
  • Serve as a thought partner in advancing inclusive access to STEM opportunities for girls and volunteers, with a focus on equity and innovation.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of council-wide events that include STEM or training components, ensuring high-quality and engaging experiences.
  • Refresh and modernize outdated training and program materials, exploring and implementing new delivery methods to enhance accessibility and effectiveness.
  • Design, pilot, and evaluate innovative STEM experiences such as mobile labs, STEM kits, badge workshops, and family engagement events, using feedback to inform ongoing improvements.
  • Manage and continually enhance STEM Lab programming at the Hardesty Leadership Center and GSEOK camp properties to ensure relevance, impact, and alignment with organizational goals.

General Duties

  • Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Ensure training availability and manage volunteers effectively in support of program delivery.
  • Manage grants to ensure financial compliance and maximize resource utilization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years of program development experience working with grades K-12
  • Must have a valid driver's license within the state of employment.

Required Skills, Abilities, and Cultural Fit:

  • Experience with event planning, volunteer management, and familiarity with GSUSA programs.
  • Passion for youth development and community service.
  • Working knowledge of customer relationship management systems, data management software, and social networking.
  • Working knowledge of the procedures and legal issues associated with recruiting, selecting, supervising, and releasing adult volunteers.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain strict adherence to safety and security guidelines.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) products.
  • Ability to learn new software as needed

Physical and Schedule Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Physically able to move through and between offices, program centers, campgrounds, and other off-site locations as needed.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends; occasional overnights as necessary, and ability to travel as the job requires.
