Job Summary: The Product Manager plays an important role in shaping and executing our product strategy by assisting in the management of the product lifecycle from conception to end-of-life for one or more leading HVAC products and delivering exceptional products to the market.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute product strategy that aligns with business objectives, market trends, and customer needs.
  • Defining the product roadmap and communicating to stakeholders for their assign product lines.
  • Collects and analyzes data related to customer expectations and market trends.
  • Contributes to managing the entire product lifecycle, from concept to end-of-life for one or more products.
  • Serves as a knowledge base for a product(s), supporting questions related to application and regulatory matters impacting the business.
  • Collaborates with other departments, including engineering, manufacturing, IT, operations, sales, and marketing.
  • Conducts market research and competitor analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and opportunities for product innovation; conducts in-depth market analysis and Voice of Customer (VoC) discovery research to identify areas for product improvement, including feature adds and new product variants.
  • Monitors and analyzes market share data, providing insights and recommendations that enhance our competitive position.
  • Recommends product pricing and price architecture to maximize value capture in the marketplace.
  • Supports the development of sales selection software to optimize the sales process, ensuring the alignment of sales strategies with product offerings and ease of business.
  • Collaborates with the marketing team to create compelling marketing collateral, brochures, technical literature, and presentations that effectively convey product value propositions.
  • Contributes to the development of pertinent product training materials and participates in “train the trainer” sessions to equip sales and technical managers with the knowledge to train others.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, and 10 years’ experience within the HVAC industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in HVAC or related industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates ability to think strategically and contribute effectively in a team environment.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills and the ability to translate customer needs and market trends into product requirements with a clear value proposition.
  • Possesses a solid technical background with an understanding of HVAC systems, product development, and experience using various sales selection tools.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively collaborate within a cross-functional product team.
  • Possesses knowledge of HVAC industry trends, technologies, and regulations.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily works in an office environment.
  • Requires sitting/standing for long periods of time.
  • Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
  • Requires travel 20-25% of the time.
