As a Principal Engineer in Core HR Tech, you’ll work with teams across the world, to continuously improve the the technologies that power Atlassian’s People engine! You bring expertise in HCM (particularly Workday), are comfortable with a dynamic environment, and extremely motivated to engineering practices and operational excellence. You are enthusiastic and interested in making positive contributions to the team. Your passions include working with technology, defining and refining ways of working, and providing world class support to employees.
Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $205,800 - $274,400
Zone B: $185,200 - $246,900
Zone C: $170,800 - $227,700
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

Requirements:
12 years of experience in HR Technology with 10 years hands on experience in Workday configuration implementation and/or maintenance
Own the technical evolution of our Core HR Systems and related outcomes
Responsible for defining technical direction, unblocking challenging, and hands-on guiding of a technical team to deliver incrementally with high quality
Collaborate with stakeholders and other tech teams to understand problems, define solutions and oversee the building and implementation of enhancements to our Core HR Systems and integrated ecosystem of related services
Accountable for the configuration and quality of Core HR Systems and proactive in driving and addressing performance, scale, complexity, security and compliance
Provide documentation, training and support to HR teams, ensuring they can effectively utilize our Core HR Systems
You’re a technical thought leader, always thinking ahead on Core HR enhancements and sharing best practices that continuously improve the system's and team performance
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong understanding of HR processes, technologies, integrations and data
Expert hands-on knowledge of Workday capabilities
Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at different altitudes
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Demonstrated ability to stay up-to-date on the latest trends, technologies and best practices
