In addition to inTulsa, the other programs under the Experience Tulsa umbrella include Tulsa Remote, Tulsa Service Year, and Campus Tulsa, and are all economic development initiatives supported by the George Kaiser Family Foundation. Over the next few years, we hope to support other key community partners in building up Tulsa to be the most welcoming place for newcomers, while increasing social capital, community-building, and networking opportunities for all Tulsans.

Position Purpose

The Platform Manager will be responsible for leading the end-to-end development and execution of our talent platform, from initial planning and design through to launch and continuous improvement. This individual will collaborate closely with internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure the platform meets user needs, adheres to industry standards, and scales effectively as the user base grows. With a focus on user experience, the Platform Manager will gather feedback, analyze data, and refine platform features to optimize communication between candidates and companies. They will take ownership of the platform’s success, ensuring its alignment with organizational goals and driving ongoing enhancements post-launch.

Position Overview

The Platform Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the development, launch, and continuous improvement of our talent platform. This individual will oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, collaborating with various teams to ensure the platform delivers an exceptional user experience and meets the strategic goals of the organization.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead Platform Development: Oversee the full lifecycle of the talent platform, including planning, design, testing, and launch. Ensure that platform development is executed smoothly, on time, and within scope, meeting both technical requirements and user needs.
  • Research & Feature Design: Conduct comprehensive research, gathering input from candidates, companies, and internal stakeholders to identify key features and functionality. Use this feedback to prioritize development efforts and refine the platform’s capabilities.
  • Platform Roadmap & Strategy: Develop and maintain a project roadmap that aligns with organizational goals, market needs, and user feedback. Ensure the platform evolves in a way that enhances its value proposition, balances competing priorities, and supports timely delivery of key milestones.
  • Collaboration with Tech Teams: Work closely with the technology team to design, build, and implement the platform. Provide direction on quality assurance processes, maintain clear visibility into development progress, and ensure technical requirements are met.
  • User Experience Optimization: Ensure the platform fosters effective communication and seamless interactions between candidates and companies. Continuously evaluate the user experience and use analytics and feedback to drive iterative improvements and enhancements.
  • Platform Ownership: Take full ownership of the platform’s success. Act as the primary point of accountability for all project development and execution, ensuring the platform delivers value to all stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, leadership, and external vendors to gather feedback, provide updates, and ensure alignment throughout the platform's development. Serve as the key liaison between all parties, maintaining clear and consistent communication.
  • Adherence to Standards & Scalability: Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure the platform meets industry standards and regulatory requirements. Build a scalable platform that supports a growing user base and evolving market needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor platform performance and user satisfaction, leveraging data-driven insights and feedback loops to make informed decisions on future project enhancements and iterations.
  • Post-Launch Oversight: Ensure the platform remains aligned with organizational goals after launch, overseeing ongoing updates, troubleshooting, and maintenance efforts to guarantee continued success and usability.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to team efforts and organizational goals as needed.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, project management, or a related field will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in platform management, software development, or related roles, preferably in building platforms or SAAS products.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage the full lifecycle of product development.
  • Experience with agile methodologies, pplatform design tools, and platform management software.

  • Technical Understanding: Ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams and understand technical requirements, limitations, and opportunities. While not necessarily a developer, a solid understanding of how platforms are built is crucial.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially when troubleshooting issues or navigating challenges that arise during development.
  • Platform Management: Expertise in managing timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring the platform is delivered on time and meets quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders, manage expectations, and ensure alignment on objectives and progress.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with pivoting or adjusting plans in response to changing market conditions, user needs, or technological developments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to participate in virtual meetings and discussions with stakeholders, as needed.
  • Minimal physical demands beyond standard office work requirements.

Hours and Location

  • This is a hybrid-based position in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
  • A typical work week is Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • There are mandatory in-person all team meeting on Wednesdays.
