Power Plant Engineer

Are you an experienced engineer passionate about optimizing power generation performance and making a real impact in the energy sector? We're looking for a Plant Engineer to join our high-performing team and play a key role in ensuring the daily reliability, efficiency, and compliance of a state-of-the-art power generation facility.
About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Plant Engineer is a critical player in daily plant operations, responsible for maximizing output, reducing imbalances, and driving performance improvements. You’ll act as the bridge between operations, maintenance, and energy offtakers—making data-driven decisions that keep everything running at peak performance. Your work ensures compliance with power purchase and interconnection agreements, while also supporting the technical needs of the Operations and Maintenance teams.
What You’ll Do:

Deliver daily reports to the Energy Offtaker on maximum plant output to support energy scheduling

Review energy schedules and assist in plant dispatch decisions

Ensure compliance with NERC standards and lead efforts on corporate NERC compliance committees

Manage the annual capacity test to determine plant contract capacity

Monitor and maximize plant availability, quickly identifying and resolving issues that impact performance

Track generation imbalance and thermodynamic performance using advanced monitoring systems

Prevent penalty events by ensuring adherence to interconnection and transmission operator guidelines

Support outage planning, troubleshooting, environmental reporting, and engineering projects
What You Bring:

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

At least 6 years of experience in power generation operations—preferably in combined cycle or steam cycle facilities

Proven expertise in energy scheduling, performance monitoring, and transmission system operations

Strong analytical, communication, and time-management skills

Ability to lead, collaborate, and drive continuous improvements

Valid driver’s license
