Overview
Responsible for analyzing U.S. and Canadian payroll data to ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations while working closely with HR, finance and other departments on payroll-related matters and ensure data integrity. Act as backup for completion and settlement of payroll in HRIS and validate funding of wage payment, employment tax and garnishment distribution.
Key Responsibilities
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Review and audit payroll data to ensure accurate calculations of wages, tax deductions, and other withholdings.
- Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement, generate insights and support decision-making processes.
- Troubleshoot and evaluate issues related to HRIS configurations and integrations.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local taxing and legal requirements.
- Participate in payroll system upgrades and testing to improve payroll processes.
- Build and document prototype configuration in the testing environment to be reviewed and approved before moving to live production.
- Develop and maintain accurate and timely reporting/information to stakeholders.
- Handle wage attachment processing; system entry, review and confirm proper wage attachment deductions and report accordingly.
- Work with finance, operations, HR and payroll on daily operations, special projects and future development and opportunities.
- Responsible for benefit reconciliations.
- Reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, human resources, business administration, or other related field and two (2) to four (4) years of payroll processing and/or analysis experience or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, SAP, Oracle, UKG preferred.
- Experience with Workday payroll and time tracking configuration preferred.
- Experience with payroll and time tracking specific functions for manufacturing companies.
- Experience interfacing ERP systems for time tracking and relevant General Ledger entries.
- Certified Payroll Professional certification preferred.

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on spreadsheet functions and formulas.
