ROLE OF THE ORGANIZATIONAL GIVING MANAGER

Maintains positive relationships and proactively establishes relationships with companies/individuals as assigned and meet the annual fundraising drive goals for those companies/individuals.

The Manager will be responsible for proper maintenance and accuracy of financial and other donor data related to those companies/individuals. The Manager must gain a detailed understanding of TAUW and its funded partners and is expected to participate in special events/projects (i.e. agency speaker system) and take leadership role(s) as assigned.


  • The Manager will ensure the development, in conjunction with volunteer leadership, of an aggressive yet realistic annual fundraising goal for assigned division and assure financial goal is met or exceeded
    • Within the assigned groups of companies, the Manager will target and improve the workplace fundraising drives of “under-performing” companies/entities, sharing best practices and using a consultative approach to find a win-win for the company and for TAUW
    • Responsible for executing at least one project for fundraising drive operations, i.e. training, departmental liaison, etc.
    • Proactively solicit new workplace fundraising drives from non-participating companies/entities
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all companies/individuals within assigned areas, including contact records for all companies/individuals within assigned areas
    • Work in conjunction with the fundraising data team to liaison with company coordinators ensuring timely online pledge information and workplace fundraising drive implementation.

  • Supervise Loaned Executive(s) and United Way Campaign Fellows (12-week employees that work with individual companies) in the successful completion of their duties
  • Other Duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Three to five years of related work experience, such as: customer service/sales, donor stewardship, fund-raising and working with volunteers in a not-for-profit setting or similar field (preferred)
  • Have access to reliable transportation to travel within a defined geographic region daily
  • Understand and commit to the mission, vision, core values, and goals of Tulsa Area United Way
  • Experience working and engaging across various and diverse community groups, delivering mutually beneficial results on collaborative projects and initiatives for stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail, responsiveness, and high-quality customer service
  • Ability to prioritize needs and deadlines in fast-paced, highly responsive environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships across the nonprofit community, public, donors, community volunteers, and colleagues
  • Excellent written communication and public speaking skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft office suite (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • The ability to complete basic math and produce, review, and interpret basic reports and graphs
  • Bilingual preferred

Working Conditions

  • Day-to-day work will be conducted in an office setting
  • TAUW hosts multiple events throughout the year which are held in both indoor and outdoor locations
  • Working occasional evening and weekend hours is necessary due to after-hours and volunteer schedules; however, the regular work week schedule at TAUW is 37.5 hours, taking this into consideration
  • Interactions beyond staff include communications with volunteers, donors, leaders and staff of nonprofit organizations, and board, cabinet and committee members, and the public
  • Requires time away from the office, traveling by car to appointments at a variety of work and individual home locations
  • Requires a normal amount of typing and data entry for customer relationship management
  • Evolving communications technology and methods require continuing professional development and training, with approved costs covered by TAUW
