Job Description

The Oklahoma Corporate Banking Director is primarily responsible for managing and developing the commercial client portfolio in Oklahoma. Develops and implements the strategic direction for the department in an effort to meet and exceed financial and operational goals. Coordinates the activities of a team of commercial bankers and support professionals who originate and service a variety of large and often complex loans to business enterprises (both secured and unsecured, the majority of which involve large amounts of money and/or important customers), serve as financial advisor regarding the full array of bank products and services that will meet client needs, and market both credit and non-credit products to the client base.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will coordinate and drive results from the corporate banking business development and calling program.
  • You will serve on the Market Leadership Team, representing senior stakeholders across various business lines and banking units in Tulsa.
  • You will act as a primary contact for significant client relationships and prospect opportunities, focusing on driving sales results.
  • You will approve credit beyond team limits, assist with complex accounts, and guide less-experienced team members on credit policy and financial arrangements.
  • You will supervise area personnel, play an active role in recruiting and talent development, and ensure effective maintenance and development of account relationships.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through a Bachelor's degree in a Business related field and 15+ years of commercial lending experience and preferred 10+ years’ experience in a financial sales management/supervisory capacity.

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of credit underwriting & complex accounting issues.
  • Extensive knowledge of loan documentation (including legal aspects of loan transactions), policy and regulations
  • Specialized advanced knowledge of commercial banking products and market factors in order to serve customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver persuasive oral and written reports and presentations; ability to communicate with senior level management, regulators, and executive officers
  • Leadership ability and team building skills
  • Strong employee development, retention and recruiting skills
  • Significant people skills required to promote teamwork within the organization
  • Demonstrated capacity to sell within the financial services industry with advanced negotiating skills
