At a Glance:

The Network Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and management of the organization’s network infrastructure. This role will lead a network operations team to ensure the stability, security, and scalability of the network environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing critical network technologies, including Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco network devices, F5 load balancers, and Prisma Access VPN, to support the business's connectivity and security needs.

What you will do:

  • Leadership & Management:
    • Lead and manage a team of network engineers, security engineers, and the network architect, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
    • Oversee the operational activities of the network team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with senior IT leadership to develop and implement network strategies that support business objectives.
  • Network Operations:
    • Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of the network infrastructure, including data centers, WAN/LAN, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN services.
    • Proactively monitor network performance and ensure timely issue resolution to minimize downtime.
    • Develop and enforce network policies and standards, ensuring compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Technology & Security:
    • Manage and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco routers and switches, F5 load balancers, and Prisma Access VPN solutions.
    • Collaborate with the network security team to identify, mitigate, and prevent network security threats.
    • Ensure appropriate firewall and VPN configurations to safeguard the organization’s network perimeter and remote access infrastructure.
  • Project Management & Strategy:
    • Lead network infrastructure projects, including upgrades, expansions, and new implementations.
    • Evaluate new network technologies and solutions to enhance the organization's infrastructure and scalability.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to support business-critical initiatives and ensure alignment with network capabilities.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including network topology diagrams, device configurations, and security policies.
    • Provide regular reports on network performance, incidents, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to IT leadership.
    • Must adhere to and enforce strict IT change management policies and guidelines and hold teams accountable for the same
  • Vendor & Budget Management:
    • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring optimal support for network infrastructure components.
    • Assist in budget planning and management for network operations, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining network performance and security.

What you need:


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.


​Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in network engineering or network operations, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong experience with Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco network devices, F5 load balancers, and Prisma Access VPN.
  • Proven track record of managing complex network infrastructures in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of network architecture, design, and best practices.
  • Expertise in network security, including firewall management, VPN, and load balancing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Certifications:

  • Preferred certifications include Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), and F5 Certified Administrator.


Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to be on-call and provide after-hours support as needed.
