You will:


We seek a highly motivated and skilled Network Engineer II to join our IT team. Reporting to the Network Engineer Supervisor, the Network Engineer II will be crucial in maintaining and optimizing our network infrastructure. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills to convey network-related and security issues in a user-friendly and professionally effective manner. A comprehensive understanding of network infrastructure components such as firewalls, routers, switches, access points, servers, and uninterruptible power systems is essential for this role. Some travel may be required as part of the job responsibilities.


Primary Responsibilities:


Network Design and Implementation:

  • Design, configure, and deploy network solutions to meet business requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration of network infrastructure.

Network Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly using various tools and techniques.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Network Maintenance and Optimization:

  • Conduct regular maintenance activities for optimal network performance and reliability.
  • Perform firmware upgrades, patch management, and performance tuning.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
  • Generate reports on network performance, utilization, and capacity planning.

Security Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce network security policies, including access controls and firewalls.
  • Stay updated on emerging security threats and recommend countermeasures.

Technical Support:

  • Provide support to end-users and internal teams regarding network-related issues.
  • Utilize the Service-Now Portal for efficient incident management.

Vendor Management:

  • Interact with vendors and service providers to procure network equipment, software, and services.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Pursue relevant certifications and training opportunities to enhance your skill set.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, Cyber Security, or related technical field.
  • 5 years of applicable experience or three years with relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).
  • Proficiency in all seven OSI model layers and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-starter with proactive problem-solving abilities and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility for occasional travel to client sites and project deployments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with AWS Networking, Palo Alto Firewalls, Meraki dashboard, and network automation/scripting.
  • Understanding of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
