Description

Job Summary: Develops, researches, designs, updates, implements, tests, and evaluates software tools for the selection and rating of HVAC equipment. Must apply principles and techniques of engineering, mathematical analysis, and computer science.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the software development team to develop HVAC sales software within time and cost constraints.
  • Consults with engineering, sales, and marketing staff to incorporate new products and features into selection software.
  • Formulates and designs software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
  • Tests work product, develops procedures, and creates documentation.
  • Maintains the data integrity of the system as new features are implemented.
  • Consults with stakeholders concerning maintenance of software system.
  • Assists with end user support of software system.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field with interests in HVAC modeling, psychometrics, fluid dynamics & heat transfer.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic programming skills and knowledge of C# preferred.
  • Exhibits good decision making and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Works effectively in a team environment.
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.

Work Environment:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires travel up to 25% time.
  • Sit or stand for up to 95 % of work hours.
  • Regular visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
