We are seeking a top 5% performer, an elite, missionary-minded leader, to join us as Managing Director of Private Equity Operations. This role demands a dynamic, understated operator with the swagger and humility to manage assets, streamline operations, and catalyze human flourishing through investor stewardship.

The Role: The Managing Director of Private Equity Operations will lead our multifamily real estate assets and broader investment portfolio, including hotels, office buildings, tech ventures, and insurance businesses. This is a hands-on leadership role for a missionary-first operator who thrives on tackling complexity, driving results, and ensuring the furtherance of our mission of stewardship to investors. The primary and most important duty is capital raising to support our acquisition strategy, particularly from UHNWIs and family offices.


Key Responsibilities:
Capital Raising Leadership
  • Driving all capital-raising activities to support our acquisition strategies, targeting ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) and family offices, leveraging your established network.
  • Personally cultivate and close investor relationships, acting as the face to the investment community.
  • Represent the firm at investor and family office conferences, roadshows, and private events.

PE Core Functions:
  • Manage the full lifecycle of buying, selling, and financing large multifamily assets and other real estate.
  • Ensure coordination with stakeholders for seamless deal execution and oversight.

Asset and Portfolio Management:
  • Oversee performance of owned multifamily apartments, hotel, office buildings, and other assets to maximize investor returns.
  • Deliver superior investor reporting and develop scalable systems to reduce time spent on phone calls and meetings.
  • Host an annual investor conference to strengthen relationships and showcase performance.
  • Negotiate with financial institutions, including banks and funds, structuring debt for optimal performance with downside protection first and foremost.

Corporate Team Leadership:
  • Reduce operational bloat, increase throughput via a lean team leveraging outside counsel and process improvements.
  • Provide leadership for tax, insurance, and legal operations, ensuring deliverables are met with transparency and efficiency.

Operational Oversight:
  • Provide leadership across the Rex ecosystem, including 20,000+ multifamily apartments managed, ensuring alignment with mission and goals.
  • Ensure assets operate thriftily, balancing profitability with resident dignity and community impact.

Investor Stewardship:
  • Optimize investor experience by ensuring superior returns, transparency, and human progress through asset stewardship.
  • Audit and enhance personnel performance to ensure respect and service to all stakeholders while driving financial performance.

Governance and Compliance:
  • Oversee legal, compliance, and financial operations, managing external counsel to minimize costs.
  • Audit operations for fraud, inefficiencies, and personnel issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Community Impact:
  • Uphold proper citizenship behaviors across assets, fostering relationships with local governments and communities.


Ideal Candidate Profile:
Experience:
  • Demonstrated success raising significant equity from UHNWIs and family offices, with a proven track record of trust and strong existing network
  • 10+ years of experience in private equity multifamily real estate, with full-cycle deal experience (capital sourcing, acquisition, management, disposition).

Skills:
  • Broad expertise in legal, compliance, financing, taxes, and investor relations, with the ability to manage multiple disciplines effectively.
  • Exceptional business acumen, operational discipline, and a sharp gut for evaluating people and opportunities.
  • Top-notch pedigree and deep industry network, with the ability to connect and build relationships with discerning investors.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the gravitas to instill confidence and trust.
  • Strong understanding of real estate investment strategies, private equity structures, and family office investor dynamics.

Compensation and Benefits: Base Salary: $200,000 annually. Performance Bonus: 20% of base salary, tied to achieving operational and financial milestones. Equity Incentive: Opportunity for equity participation in deals, aligning personal success with long-term organizational growth. Benefits:
