JOB SUMMARY

This manager position in the Property Accounting organization is responsible for projects with our Natural Gas Liquids segment, as well as lease accounting. This position works closely with supply chain and project managers to ensure completed projects are accounted for timely. A successful candidate will understand the lease accounting standards and have good problem solving skills.

Main responsibilities include:

1. Supervise, coach and mentor a team to ensure continuous development and accountability.
2. Oversee projects and unitizations for the natural gas liquids segment.
3. Review monthly lease accounting entries and new contracts for proper classification.
4. Coordinating with various other groups as needed, including supply chain, segment operations and internal and external audit.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct financial accounting, and account classification functions. Supervise employees engaged in those activities
  • Analyze accounting policies, procedures, and corresponding controls to ensure regulatory compliance and integrity of financial statements and/or reports
  • Monitor and maintain accounting and financial reporting systems; research, evaluate, and propose system changes and/or development of new accounting systems to expedite accounting controls
  • Provide information and assistance to management, employees, regulatory agencies, auditors, and others relative to classification and/or accounting treatment of taxes, revenues, earnings, expenses, policies, and procedures
  • Compile, prepare, verify, and/or approve information and reports including but not limited to:
    • Policies and procedures
    • Earnings
    • Revenues
    • Investments
    • Taxes
    • Budgets

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, or other related field with regional and/or general treasury and accounting experience to include the following

Work Experience

  • Experience with and thorough knowledge of GAAP, company accounting methods, practices, and procedures
  • Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software
  • Experience and/or training related to:
    • Financial accounting
    • Financial reporting
    • Account classification
    • Supervisory and management skills
  • Experience monitoring and analyzing financial data, reports, audits, and regulatory publications
  • Experience researching, preparing, and composing reports, guidelines, financial data, procedures, analyses, presentations, and correspondence
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting applicable company policies and procedures, manuals, FASB pronouncements, governmental regulations, rate case orders, publications, financial statements, contracts, reports, and correspondence
  • Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively
  • Experience supervising, directing, and training; working knowledge of personnel policies and procedures
  • Experience developing information and conducting group presentations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to: apply algebra, statistics, and economic theory
  • Ability to: communicate and/or exchange written and verbal information and instructions; conduct oral presentations and/or meetings

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Expected Salary Range

$123,000.00 - $185,000.00
