JOB SUMMARY
ONEOK is seeking a Manager of Environmental to join our team! In this role, you will:-Provide leadership and oversight to supervisors and individual contributors, ensuring environmental compliance across all media and various oil and gas products.
-Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with business partners to meet needs while maintaining consistency in compliance methodologies.
-Mentor and coach supervisors and individual contributors on regulatory applicability, compliance maintenance, record-keeping, and agency interactions.
Job Profile Summary
Provide leadership and oversight to support business segments and/or corporate programs that facilitate compliance with environmental regulations, minimize environmental liabilities and execute corporate strategies in accordance with the company mission, vision, and value.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Partner with Operations management to develop, analyze and implement programs to meet environmental compliance requirements and minimize environmental liabilities for business segments.
- Serve on steering committees that develop environmental strategies and facilitate the execution of those strategies.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies; lead response to alleged non-compliance and settlement negotiations.
- Balance the interests of the company in maintaining compliance with environmental requirements.
- Research and/or interpret federal, state and local environmental regulations; ensure company personnel are adequately informed of regulatory changes.
- Evaluate compliance efforts of local operations including participating in the Operations Compliance Audit Program.
- Provide guidance and direction to employees and groups (including outside consultants), providing environmental support to business segment field operations.
- Supervise and assist assigned Environmental Professionals and perform related human resources responsibilities such as hiring, coaching, mentoring, performance, etc.
- Review and sign off on compliance and company reporting requirements.
- Direct development and growth of team through guidance and feedback.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in environmental, science, or engineering preferred and/or a combination of formal education and the following job related experience
Work Experience
- This role is typically attained through 10 or more years of experience and knowledge of environmental compliance laws, regulations, procedures and programs.
- Experience with and knowledge of environmental programs including:
- Clean Air Act / Title V compliance.
- Hazardous, non-hazardous and universal waste management.
- Clean Water Act (including SPCCs).
- National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) permitting and compliance requirements.
- Spill Management and Emergency Response.
- Remediation site management.
- Pre-acquisition due diligence.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of: state and federal environmental regulations and standards.
- Ability to: analyze, research, compile, and prepare permit applications, logs, reports, and correspondence and company responses to agency requests.
- Ability to: evaluate, research, and interpret governmental regulations, equipment performance manuals, regulatory agency guidance and instructions, reports, correspondence, and company policies and procedures.
- Ability to: interact, advise and communicate effectively, exchange information/provide instructions, conduct presentations with teams, peers and all levels of management.
- Ability to: think strategically and critically.
- Ability to: analyze business processes and effectively partner with teams to identify and recommend solutions.
- Ability to: establish and sustain positive, long-term relationships.
- Ability to: elicit cooperation from a variety of sources, inclusive of senior management, internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to: apply basic math, algebra and statistical formulas.
- Ability to: utilize office equipment including computers and applicable job related software, including Microsoft Office tools.

Licenses and Certifications
- Professional Engineer or equivalent preferred
- Certification as a Registered Environmental Manager preferred
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager preferred
