LIMS LabVantage Technical Implementation Specialist – (Contract) – Remote – east coast hours
Biotechnology Organization seeks a LIMS LabVantage Technical Implementation Specialist for a Remote 9-Month Contract, with likely extensions. Ideal candidate must have 4+ years’ experience in middleware and some LabVantage LIMS; Red Hat Quay.io or a similar container registry would be ideal. This requires hands-on systems expertise troubleshooting complex systems to include 1 or more of the following languages: Java, JavaScripting, VBScript, or Python. Additionally, 2 or more of the following are also required: GitLab, Intellij, Docker, JIRA, Groovy, Jasper Reports. This person must have the ability to perform hands-on complex configurations to include SDCs, Security, as well as Pages (buttons, adding new columns, filters and group by). Also, ideal individual will have experience with master data including tests, specifications, arrays, transfers, and sample/assay templates. Lastly, individual must be comfortable installing and troubleshooting open-source software using terminal command. Prior experience and knowledge of DevOps in terms of CD/CI (continuous integration, continuous delivery) are a must. Opportunity offers a competitive 1099 or W2 (with or without benefits) remote contract opportunity. Please no third-party agencies. Must be located in the US or Canada.

Requirements
  • Successful history of providing LabVantage LIMS ticket resolution, solutions design, and user training for both simple and complex tickets.
  • Ideally exposure to Redhat Quay.io or a similar container registry.
  • 1 or more of the following languages: Java, JavaScripting, VBScript, or Python.
  • 2 or more of the following are also required: GitLab, Intellij, Docker, JIRA, Groovy, Jasper Reports.
  • Database expertise to include SQL Server or Oracle.
  • Complex configuration experience to include SDCs, Security, as well as Pages (buttons, adding new columns, filters and group by).
  • Master data experience including some of the following: tests, specifications, arrays, transfers, and sample and assay templates.
  • Individual must be comfortable installing and troubleshooting open-source software using terminal command.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of DevOps in terms of CD/CI (continuous integration, continuous delivery) are a must
  • Experience with containers in programming.
  • Experience with GitHub dealing with merge conflict resolution.
  • Genomics workflow expertise a plus.
  • A can-do attitude with the ability to work independently but ask questions often and regularly as needed.
  • Ability to grasp complex and robust systems and processes.
  • A passion for learning new and complex technologies and workflows, without fear of asking for help as needed.


Responsibilities
  • Serving as a hands-on techno-functional LabVantage LIMS v8 consultant assisting with ticketing resolution and solutions-finding as part of a full SDLC implementation.
  • Working within a team of consultants to complete simple and complex ticketing, to include hands-on configurations. (SDCs, Security, as well as Pages (buttons, adding new columns, filters and group by).
  • Assisting in the creation and improvement of robust and complex workflows and systems, while ensuring system optimization occurs and user needs are met.
  • Informing management along-the-way of progress or challenges of open tickets to properly escalate issues as needed, while setting expectations.
  • Utilization of Java, JavaScripting, VBScript, or Python to assist in the troubleshooting and solutions development of internal projects to include LabVantage and dev ops.
  • Drawing from prior experience and knowledge of DevOps in terms of CD/CI (continuous integration, continuous delivery).
  • Regular utilization of GitLab, Intellij, Docker, JIRA, Groovy, Jasper Reports; with daily use of Github and JIRA to regularly store, share, and collaborate with teams on various complex tasks and ticketing.
  • Regularly processes ticketing that includes performing installation and troubleshooting of open-source software using terminal command.
  • Assisting with master data including tests, specifications, arrays, transfers, and sample/assay templates.
  • Assisting users on solutions roll-out to while ensuring thorough understanding and utilization of new processes and system improvements as needed.
