Job Summary: The On-Air Talent is responsible for engaging the listening audience through prepared and spontaneous content, fostering a loyal listener base, and driving the show's ratings. The Radio On-Air Talent occasionally hosts and/or fills in for a show during a designated timeslot, providing captivating and entertaining content tailored to the target demographic. This position requires a dynamic and charismatic individual who can connect with the audience, stay current with industry trends, and adapt to the ever-evolving media landscape.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver engaging news, sports, weather reports, and other relevant content, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Announce musical selections, station breaks, commercials, and public service information. Read news flashes to inform audiences of important events.
- Create and deliver scripted and ad-libbed content, including station identification and show introductions/closings.
- Interact with listeners through social media, phone calls, and other platforms to discuss various topics and take song requests.
- Execute and assist with games, contests, and other on-air competitions, including asking questions and awarding prizes.
- Participate in and host civic, charitable, or promotional events, both on-air and in-person. Make promotional appearances at public or private events to represent the station and engage with the community.
- Keep daily discrepancy logs to document any missed or incorrect commercial content.
- Operate control board, audio recording, and production equipment during broadcasts.
- Edit and produce live and pre-recorded content, ensuring high-quality audio standards.
- Screen listener phone calls and manage live show remotes.
- Record and edit commercials for future broadcasts.
- Collaborate with the Brand Manager and marketing team to create promotional content for social media and other platforms.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including driving an automobile for company business.
Job Schedule: This is a full-time position primarily working 40 hours per week. You may also be called upon at times to fill in other hours and days of the week to help cover vacations, illnesses, breaking news, severe weather, or special projects/events. This position is not eligible to work remotely.

Skills and Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or trade school equivalent in Communications, Radio Broadcasting, or a related field preferred. Related experience will be evaluated and may be substituted as years of education.
- 2-5 years of on-air experience in radio preferred.
- Proficiency in digital production programs and equipment.
- Ability to operate studio equipment and general knowledge of radio station operations.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in web-based tools.
- Basic production skills and knowledge of the radio sales process.
- Understanding of FCC rules and regulations.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and their use for audience engagement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good voice quality with clear enunciation.
- Ability to present perspectives and insights in an entertaining and creative manner.
- Strong ability to connect with and engage the audience.
- High work ethic and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work well under pressure.
- Energetic and engaging personality.
- Knowledge and passion for music relevant to the target demographic.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and have a driving record acceptable to the company.
