Job Summary:
The IT Asset Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records of the organization’s IT assets throughout their lifecycle. This includes tracking the acquisition, deployment, usage, maintenance, and disposal of hardware and software assets. The role ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulations, supporting efficient asset utilization and cost control.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets (hardware and software) using asset management tools.
  • Coordinate the procurement, receiving, deployment, and return of IT equipment.
  • Monitor and reconcile asset records with physical inventory and financial systems.
  • Track software licenses, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Manage the asset lifecycle from acquisition through disposal.
  • Work closely with IT support, procurement, and finance teams to ensure timely updates to asset records.
  • Assist in conducting periodic physical audits of IT equipment.
  • Generate reports related to asset usage, lifecycle status, and compliance metrics.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes by provisioning and reclaiming IT equipment.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and warranty service with vendors.
  • Ensure secure and environmentally compliant disposal of obsolete equipment.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years in IT asset management, inventory control, or IT support roles.
  • ITIL, CompTIA A+, Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) or equivalent certifications preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in using IT asset management tools and databases.
  • Basic understanding of IT hardware, software, and licensing.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and vendor relations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.

Work Environment:
Work is performed in a climate-controlled office setting. Occasional visits to the manufacturing plant may be required, exposing the incumbent to:

  • Humidity, loud noises, dirt
  • Varying temperatures
  • Sheet Metal
  • Forklift traffic

Physical Demands:

  • Lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Climbing
  • Stooping
  • Sitting for prolonged periods
