Holland Hall was established in 1922 and currently serves approximately 1,000 preK through 12th grade students in a coeducational setting. Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist will oversee all HR functions within the school, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment and Staffing:
    • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract diverse talent.
    • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, coordinating interviews, reference checks, and onboarding.
    • Collaborate with Administrators to understand staffing needs and create job descriptions.
  2. Employee Relations:
    • Act as a trusted advisor to faculty and staff on HR-related issues.
    • Mediate conflicts and facilitate resolution in a fair and equitable manner.
    • Promote a positive school culture through engagement initiatives.
  3. Compliance and Policy Development:
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Develop and update Employee policies and procedures in line with best practices.
    • Maintain employee records and ensure confidentiality.
  4. Benefits Administration:
    • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
    • Manage Workers compensation
    • Coordinate FMLA and ADA processes with managers and employees.
    • Communicate benefits information effectively to staff and address any inquiries.
  5. Performance Management:
    • Provide guidance on goal setting, feedback, and evaluations.
  6. Data Management and Reporting:
    • Maintain HR metrics and prepare reports for school leadership.
    • Utilize HRIS systems to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in human resources, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, Google Suite of products and Microsoft Word and Excel.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Hours are 8:00 to 4:30 with 30 minutes for lunch, however, the time required to perform this job may extend to hours outside department hours to include evenings and occasionally weekends.
  • Primarily works indoors in standard office conditions and climate.
  • Activities include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual activity. The work is performed primarily indoors.
  • Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
