THE OPPORTUNITY

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a valuable member of our team who will assist employees and facilitate communication with vendors regarding leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention, particularly those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and local leave laws, and short-term or long-term disability plans. The HRBP will collaborate with members of the Talent and Human Resources team, and other stakeholders in service of a high-quality benefits operation that supports all team members and contributes to an inclusive and positive work environment.

Who you will work with

The HRBP works under the supervision of the Manager, Human Resources, and closely with our Human Resources Team, and supports team members across the organization.

Where and how you will work

Schusterman employees work a weekly hybrid schedule with a mix of in-office time and work-from-home flexibility. For this role, you’ll need to be based in Tulsa, OK or in Washington, DC. For candidates in Washington, DC, some travel to Tulsa will be required (approximately 6-8 days per year). This is a full-time position. Please note that Schusterman does not cover relocation expenses for this position.

WHAT YOU WILL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES)

Core Benefits Administration (30%)

  • Assist with Life Insurance, both company-provided and optional life
  • Assist with annual open enrollment
  • Support 401k administration

Leave of Absence and Additional Benefits Administration (60%)

  • Leave of Absence administration, including coordinating multi-state leaves
  • Serve as liaison to answer employee benefits questions
  • Administer LSA and reimbursement programs

Administrative Duties (10%)

  • Support Human Resources team as needed, with opportunities to take on special projects
  • Process invoices and internal reimbursement requests
  • Support event planning and schedule meetings
  • Manage Human Resources email inbox for appropriate distribution of inquiries

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or comparable, relevant professional experience.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in human resources and administering benefits, including Leaves of Absence (multi-state coordination), Life Insurance and 401(k) plans.
  • Understanding of compliance with laws and regulations related to Human Resources including Labor Law Postings.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail.
  • Resourcefulness to work independently and manage varied workflow with a high level of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly sensitive, confidential information and to exercise discretion and tact in difficult or confidential situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills necessary to develop effective working relationships, provide timely, responsive support, and exhibit empathy in interactions with team members at all levels across Schusterman.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience also using Microsoft Teams SharePoint highly desired.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with UKG, Culture Amp or other HR platforms.
  • Experience with processing invoices and reimbursement requests for additional benefit programs, including accurate tracking.
  • Understanding of when to communicate with internal team on complex issues.
  • Experience in event planning to support planning and coordinating employee events, with the flexibility to work outside of regular business hours to support event set-up and wrap-up (estimated 4-5 events per year) a plus.
  • Quantitative and qualitative skills desired.
  • Presentation Skills desired.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS OF WORKING AT SCHUSTERMAN

This role features a competitive hiring range of $80,000-$92,500 based on experience and Schusterman’s commitment to internal equity.
