Position Information Position Title Housing Coordinator Job Description The main responsibilities of the live-in Housing Coordinator are to provide support, encouragement, and leadership to foster an inclusive living & learning experience. The Housing Coordinator will serve in a variety of community-development functions such as advising, crisis intervention, programming, conduct, and supervision of resident assistants and desk workers.Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, evaluate, and select resident assistant and student desk staff.
- Collaborate with other departments on campus to support hall community and operations.
- Promptly complete all administrative tasks related to position.
- Respond to emergency and crisis situations following departmental protocols.
- Advise assigned Hall Government, attending meetings & supporting events to build community.
- Create and publish schedules related to on-call, desk work, and break duty.
- Assist with hall opening and closing.
- Manage a budget for staff development, training, and building needs.
- Exercise excellent and prompt customer service for residents, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Host regular staff development & recognition activities for building staff.
- Coordinate building programming via RAs to implement innovative curriculum-based programs.
- Adjudicate residents for infractions, providing educational sanctions and appropriate outreach.
- Be available in person to the community.
- Serve as a positive role model of The University of Tulsa.
- Maintain a positive outlook and demeanor and encourage collaboration and communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in a student affairs-related degree preferred.
- Two years’ experience working in Residence Life required.
