Description

Job Summary: Designs, develops, and reviews testing of gas and electric heating systems for various types of HVAC products.

Essential Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Performs research and development on new and current heat options.
  • Selects heating components to meet product requirements and ratings.
  • Pairs with more experienced engineers to develop skills.
  • Evaluates new products through testing and meetings with potential vendors.
  • Analyzes test data to determine the product meets performance and safety requirements.
  • Work on multiple, small scale projects simultaneously.
  • Reads and reviews electrical diagrams.
  • Maintains and builds professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, or participating in professional societies.
  • Travels, when necessary, for third party testing or product review at field test sites.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Degree(s): ABET Accredited Engineering Degree or equivalent experience

License(s): None

Certification(s): None

  • Four-year ABET accredited degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree in Applied Sciences or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years in the HVAC industry or equivalent experience in a similar industry.

Essential Physical Functions:

  • Lift up to 50lbs.
  • Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
  • Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
