JOB SUMMARY:

In this role, you will calculate, post, and verify financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Controller with preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly reports which summarize business activity and financial position in areas of income, product costs, variances, expenses and earnings.
  • Review and update internal control systems to ensure corporate SOX compliance and Corporate Policies and Procedures are adhered to.
  • Coordinate Business Unit SOX testing and Financial Audits.
  • Oversee processes for collecting, remitting, and reporting sales tax.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual entries to record activities of the company.
  • Keep detailed manufacturers' representative commission files and process monthly/quarterly commission payments.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet and other account reconciliations.
  • Maintain and Record both international and domestic inter-company transactions.
  • Support and act as backup for other departmental functions including but not limited to cash management, payroll, financial analysis, budget analysis, regulatory reporting, coordinating and managing monthly closing activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel: up to 10% - Occasional domestic and international travel as required by the Business Unit / Division.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting, Finance or other related field from an accredited College or University; plus 7-10+ years' related experience and/or training, including experience in a fully-integrated, computerized manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • CPA and/or MBA

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises employees in the Accounting Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable State and Federal laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
