The Executive Director of TYPROS (Tulsa’s Young Professionals) is responsible for managing the organization on behalf of the Tulsa Regional Chamber and working with the TYPROS Leadership team to carry out core initiatives. There is also a heavy focus on ensuring TYPROS provides direct value to Tulsa Regional Chamber members by helping them attract and retain young professionals within their organization. TYPROS’ mission is to positively impact Tulsa by connecting people, engaging in the community, and developing the next generation of leaders.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with the Tulsa Regional Chamber member companies to help them attract and retain young professionals within their organizations.
- Provides staff management in working with the TYPROS Leadership Team, stakeholders, Crew Members, and Members of Tulsa’s Young Professionals.
- Cultivates dynamic relationships among members, business leaders, stakeholders and elected officials.
- Seeks and identifies opportunities to showcase TYPROS program of work to media, stakeholders, and Chamber’s Board of Directors.
- Serves as the principal liaison between the Chamber and TYPROS community partners.
- Researches and benchmarks against other young professional organizations to ensure TYPROS remains innovative in their work.
- Manages the total portfolio of events and specialized meetings on behalf of membership.
- Works to grow membership in TYPROS from employees at Tulsa Regional Chamber member companies.
- Assists in developing revenue sources through sponsorships.
- Manages the annual operating budget.
- Coordinates with the TYPROS Foundation on shared initiatives.
- Accountable by assuring that all direct reporting staff have achieved their annual development goals.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience in one or more business disciplines.
- Experience working with non-profit organizations.
- Experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, journalism, or communications is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and objectives simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of business operations and strategies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, insight into group dynamics, and the ability to develop and foster relationships.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Adept and comfortable with public speaking and media relations.
- Knowledge of social media platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in management of volunteers.
WORK AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work environment: Normally a typical office environment with people, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, with occasional outdoor exposure to heat, cold, and environmental elements.
- Physical demands: Manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment. Able to read, write, and interpret written documents. Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
