As an Engineer Sr/Staff, you will apply your years of industry expertise and experience as you work independently on large-scale projects and anticipate business trends. You will collaborate with others to identify and develop innovative services or processes that address current and future customer needs and recommend improvements. Additionally, you will prepare and deliver presentations to leaders and may supervise team members in their work!

As an engineering expert, you will be responding to serious incident sites to conduct investigations representing the safety & operational discipline. You will be focusing on employee, pipeline, and process safety during these investigations; providing detailed reports findings that are presented to affected personnel, executive leadership, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies such as PHMSA, OSHA, and CSB. You will train and qualify incident investigation team leaders, evaluate investigations completed by field personnel, and provide experience-based counsel to field personnel and safety leadership. Additionally, you contribute as a voting member of the Health and Safety Focus Team, develop safety moments for quarterly Board of Directors EHS Committee meetings, and work cross-functionally with corporate and field operations, safety, environmental, and legal teams

Engineer Sr.

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Accounts for a diverse range of sophisticated assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation and judgment
  • May supervise the work of others
  • Demonstrates technical expertise in a specialty, geographic area, or operational function and applies specialized knowledge in the effective completion of large-scope projects
  • Prepares and delivers presentations
  • Anticipates internal/external customer needs; assesses requirements and identifies solutions
  • Interprets internal/external business challenges and improves products, processes or services
  • Collaborates with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet training needs
  • Champions processes, procedures and safety standards
  • Monitors and controls costs and resources associated with projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum eight (8) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and minimum seven (7) years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry and PE Certification

Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
  • Proficiency in engineering specialties covering more than one subject area
  • Preferred: Project Management experience

Engineer Staff

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Performs sophisticated technical tasks and leads teams in projects of major scope and complexity
  • Participates in the development and implementation of technical standards and specifications
  • Interprets technological aspects of business and coordinates with leaders to ensure success
  • Prepares and delivers presentations
  • Applies expertise, knowledge and experience from projects that positively impacts earnings
  • Collaborates with others to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet training needs
  • Handles resources requirements for projects
  • Oversees systems for assessing incident severity, collecting evidence, and conducting investigations; Identifies causes, risks and recommends actions to prevent future incidents
  • Provides training on investigation techniques and collaborates with teams to improve safety and compliance; Maintains a database of findings and stay updated on industry standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum fifteen (15) years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry

Other Requirements:

  • Able to work on engineering specialties covering more than one subject area
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
  • Preferred: PE Certification
  • Preferred: Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of methodologies like scene security, evidence gathering, timeline analysis, and root cause analysis; Unbiased and impartial, focusing on facts rather than fault
